Typical way it's made: 2 oz gin, 0.75 oz lemon juice, 0.75 oz honey syrup
A Prohibition sour with a purpose: honey and lemon flattered the era's harsh, improvised gin, and the name was 1920s slang for the best there is. Like most drinks of the dry years it has no clean birth certificate, just claimants on two continents and a recipe that needs no defending.
