A mint-brightened gin sour with country-club manners and a gangland origin story it can neither prove nor shake.
Typical way it's made: 2 oz gin, 0.75 oz lime juice, 0.75 oz simple syrup, 5-6 mint leaves
A gin sour dressed in mint with an origin nobody can pin down: one camp points to Long Island's Southside Sportsmen's Club, another to Chicago's South Side, where the story goes that Prohibition gangs sweetened their rough gin into drinkability. Either way it settled into country-club shorthand for summer.
