A California aloe liqueur: cucumber, melon and mint over a cool vegetal centre.
California, modern
A young American liqueur built for the bar rather than inherited from anywhere, and one of the few to make aloe its headline ingredient instead of a supporting botanical.
Aloe vera leads, with cucumber, muskmelon, lemon peel and spearmint distilled or macerated alongside it into a lightly sweetened, pale spirit.
Cucumber skin and honeydew first, then aloe's cool green bitterness and a spearmint finish. Reads fresh rather than sweet, which is unusual for a liqueur this low in proof.
Did you know
Aloe is far more common in a bar's juice fridge than in its bottles, which is why this tastes like an ingredient bartenders already knew rather than a new flavour.
