Ausano Ramazzotti, a herbalist, worked out his recipe in Milan and opened a bar beside the opera house to sell it, which put the bottle in front of a city already primed for the aperitivo hour.
A bill of roughly thirty botanicals, bitter orange peel and star anise among the loudest, infuses in neutral spirit before sweetening.
Sweet orange and cola over soft anise and a mild, rounded bitterness. Among the gentlest of the well-known amari.
