Typical way it's made: 1 oz gin, 1 oz Campari, 1 oz sweet vermouth
Florence, 1919, as the story goes: Count Camillo Negroni asked bartender Fosco Scarselli at Caffè Casoni to stiffen his usual Americano, and gin replaced the soda. Historians still pick at the details, but the drink's logic is airtight; equal thirds, stirred, with nothing to hide behind.
