Horchata's cinnamon-and-rice idea rebuilt on Caribbean rum and dairy cream.
United States, 2009
An American product launched in 2009, taking its cue from horchata, the Latin American rice-and-cinnamon drink, and setting it on rum.
Caribbean rum is blended with dairy cream, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. The low strength and the cream base mean an opened bottle belongs in the fridge.
Cinnamon-toast sweetness, vanilla, and rice-pudding creaminess, with only a trace of rum heat behind it.
