The gin-based fruit-cup liqueur that turns lemonade into an English summer.
London, England, c. 1840
James Pimm served a gin-based house tonic of herbs and liqueurs as a digestion aid at his London oyster bar, ladled out in a small tankard called the No. 1 Cup.
Gin infused with a still-secret blend of bitter herbs, spices, and liqueurs, bottled at an easygoing 25% and born to be lengthened.
Bitter orange, caramelized fruit, and quiet spice; with lemonade, cucumber, and mint it becomes summer infrastructure.

Pimm's once ran six cups, each on a different spirit: Scotch (No. 2), brandy (No. 3), rum (No. 4), rye (No. 5), and vodka (No. 6) followed the gin original. Wimbledon and Henley kept No. 1 famous.
