Flavored schnapps built the American shot menu through the 1980s and 1990s, and blue raspberry, a candy flavor with no single fruit behind it, became the loudest bottle on the shelf.
Neutral spirit sweetened hard and flavored with berry esters, then colored blue. Low strength by design, built for mixing rather than sipping.
