A mid-century soda-fountain order for kids at the grown-ups' table: cola, grenadine, and a cherry, named for the singing cowboy billed as King of the Cowboys. No bar claims the first one and no date survives. It simply rode alongside the Shirley Temple through the diner decades as the menu's other kids' cocktail.
