The Story

Douglas Ankrah dreamed it up at The Townhouse, the Knightsbridge bar he opened in 2002: vanilla-laced vodka, passion fruit liqueur and purée, and a chilled shot of fizz on the side. He first called it the Maverick Martini, after a Cape Town club, then renamed it for the kind of glamour he pictured drinking it. London never stopped ordering.
