Mint in a bottle, green or white: pharmacy heritage, Grasshopper destiny.
France, 19th century
Mint cordials are old pharmacy stock; the famous origin story belongs to Émile Giffard, the Angers pharmacist whose white mint liqueur cooled the 1885 heatwave and turned his shop into a distillery.
Peppermint or Corsican mint steeps in grain alcohol for weeks, then is filtered and sweetened; the green version gets its color from mint leaves or added coloring.
Cold, clean peppermint with real sweetness; after-dinner by design, toothpaste only if you overdo it.
Did you know
Green and white taste the same; the color is the whole difference, which is why the Grasshopper insists on green and the Stinger on white.
Also known as: mint liqueur
